"You've got a smile that can light up this whole town"

I wish I was lounging right there.

Somedays are better than others.

On good days, you wake up and everything is right.

Yes, you woke up 2 hours after the alarm went off.

Yes, you kinda missed your pending appointments, and there's lots to do, but you don't seem to care.

This day, you trick yourself and tell yourself that everything can wait, time will be your friend and you'll get everything crossed off your list of pending errands.

You take a glance of your French press thats brewing with hot scrumptious coffee and you smile, the milk is at the right temperature and the cup looks so inviting.

It's just you, the coffee, the couch and your laptop as you watch a sappy chick-click and smile.

Perfect start to a choc-bloc full day.

Wishing you a daily dose of zen,

Doesn't this make you feel lucky?

When Walls Have Faces OF Their Own..

Only then, will the following statement be true; "ساعات أحس إني أكلم طوفه"

Haha, no but really, I give you Dan Bergeron's: Faces of the City, in which he attempts to give those shabby walls we pass by everyday some character.

Street Art, Vandalism or Petty Entertainment for Passers-by?

"Bergeron is best known for his subversive and thought-provoking public street installations. His most recent body of work, Faces of the City, juxtaposes the abrasive charm of the distressed surfaces of modern cities with the intimate familiarity of the human face. As the walls and surfaces of the city define its physical character and spatial identity, the faces of its inhabitants provide the city with its personality, disposition and magnetism. His fusion of the two explores the idea that beauty truly lies in the scars, wrinkles and blemishes of places we live and people we meet." from Show and Tell Gallery

What would be scandalous about this is whether if "الطوفه اترد عليك"/ the wall would reply back?

Personification at it's best.

"عيدكم مبارك"

Our holy guest is departing us, Ramadan is on the last leg of it's yearly visit.

It's been a blast, hibernating all day, socializing all evening, and praying all night. But now it's time to get back on track, back to coffee in the morning, sleeping early, and getting things done/being more productive.

Time to reboot sleeping patterns in time for tomorrow.

I wish you all an enjoyable, relaxing and happy Eid.

Once Upon An Ad...

Fairytales aren't just for kids it seems, Advertisers are banking on that little kid within and giving advertisements a pinch of fairy dust.

Check out the following Fairytale inspired advertisements with a twist.

Retro Wedding

I'm a big fan of Bonnie Tsang, a Los Angeles based photographer that I've been following for some time now, if only for those happiness inducing shots and images.

She really does capture the essence of those happy moments and milestones in life from engagements to weddings, from classic affairs to quite retro unimaginable shindigs such as this wedding.

There's something quite romantic and whimsical about this vintage inspired retro faux wedding shoot she shot titled "Pink Fig"; take a look.

Who said whimsical can't be romantic?

If Road Trips Looked Like this,

Include me!

I'm often fascinated by road trips, even though I've never been on any local ones (our roads aren't exactly scenic, if you call endless tarmac and flat plains filled with sand a sight for sore eyes, and maybe the fact that you have to don an Abbaya midway in your travels... but thats another story all together), but after seeing those pictures- Kate Spade Ads- I think I want in....

Given it'll be a funky car, and I'll have a killer wardrobe; ignore the blonde within..

Happy pictures make me smile.

Are you smiling yet?

When a Picture Tells a Story...

I've always had a fascination with pictures.

I truly believe that some pictures can really be "worth a 1,000 words;" don't get me wrong I'm more passionate about words, but you know what they say "talk is cheap" (sometimes lol)

So sometimes you really do need a picture to just say everything, a deafening mute that can scream the truth and tell the viewer ever so much but in silence.

That's where the concept behind "Pictory" (an online magazine) was initiated.

"Pictory" is a "showcase for your best photo stories." People from all around the world submit a picture they have shot with a caption describing it, and relates to a certain theme posted on the webzine.

The images are then collected, sifted through and the best ones are picked and made into a "Pictory."

It's interesting to see what they come up with and how you get different perspectives from different people; very insightful.

A Screen Shot of the site

A Pictory on the site that caught my eye was the "Life Lessons"  one, which was a collection of lessons people had learnt from others in their lives with a picture of that valuable person. Very inspiring to say the least. I'm a solemn believer of taking whatever advice you can get from your elders, especially people that have experienced so much; to me it's like a bandaid on your feet as you walk around in tight shoes, it won't make the shoes comfier but it'll lessen the chance of blisters... Symbolic, think about it.

Here's one of the photographs and life lesson that stood out to me.

The web is so amazing, oh the things one stumbles upon, and the endless sources of inspiration.

Smile for the camera, Say "Wedding Ring!"

How cute is this photo booth engagement attempt?

There's something kind of nostalgic about photo booth snaps, adds a bit of sentimental spice to memories.

Yes, the digital cameras are more convenient, quick, and more fun; no ones like loading film onto cameras and seeing that number drop to 0, ugh the days.... but there's something about printed old photographs that make one dream of the days past...

Finally, an ode to good planned and surprises in the most unexpected places; especially after it hits you, in which the world stops for a couple of minutes as you attempt to figure out what the hell just happened.... *sigh*

A long-gone age; Childhood.

They say "youth is wasted on the young."

Why is it that whenever we remember our childhood we smile?

Memories of the day when you didn't have to think where you're going in life, didn't have to bother having a "Plan B", didn't have to worry since everything was taken care of.

Sleeping in the car meant you were carried up to your room.

Meals were already planned.

Exercise was that game of never ending tag.

Everything mesmerized you. You had to know why? how? and when? as opposed to just giving something a second glance as an adult and moving on.

School was just about having fun in the sandbox, and work meant shading those pictures with your crayons; whilst taking care not to color out of the lines, oh gosh a stigma back then.

"ليت الشباب يعود يوم" ?

Just for a couple of hours a day at least.

Ps. Why is the word "Childish" an implication of a lapse in action/judgment? and being an "Adult" agrees with the status quo?
