A Financial Perspective on People

Some say that the "least profitable and worthy investment is that in people"; on my good days, I like to dismiss that notion and passionately believe in the Human Race and people's ability to be noble and worthy.

On my not so good days, I somewhat agree to that quote.

Some people will surprise you, and I don't mean it in a good way. No matter how much you do for them, how much you are there for them, or how far back your go; they will act/forget everything and behave in such a way which makes you doubt the fact that you once knew them well or that they owe you.

Those people are like a faulty investment, an investment you jumped head first into without consulting someone- a high risk investment in an uninsured sector with hardly any proof of profit or even return.

Others are "ماعون طيب"; the more you pump money into them, the more they give you a higher return. The size of the favor you did them does not matter, for they will return or even double any amount you invest in them, without you having to go after them. Those people are a delightful surprise; they are the kind of investment that never lets you down, and constantly makes you smile.

You don't necessarily have to have invested much in them, they are the kind of people that will "يمشيلك خطوتين " or every "خطوة" you take towards them.

It's people like this that make believe in life and humans alike. You are lucky if you call someone like that a "good friend."

You're even lucky if you're related to such people, or even get to meet people that belong to that classification, what people call "self-less givers."

They give you their 100% and even more for nothing, no hidden agendas, no timed periods in which they seem to disappear after, and for no price; just a transparent good-will investment that's core mission is to make a profit, and benefit society, not a gold-digging company that does not care about it's stakeholders, or industry.

Apart from distributing hefty dividends, and having profitable cycles, they make you beam.

A multiplier effect- a kind of "pay it forward"- that makes you want to become a better person and benefits those around you.

They make the "world go round."

To profitable human investments, and "green" markets.

When Life Gives You Lemons, Add Grapefruit, Ice, and some Oranges and Make Smoothies.

Ironies are a given in life.

The more you live, the more you see.

Things that might have seemed crystal clear suddenly loose all their luster and become foggy.

Causes and ideologies you might have felt very strong about may suddenly alter, with you being on the opposing front as opposed to the home-front.

Hypocrites turn genuine and originals replicate all of a sudden.

"قال عطني عمر قال خذ طماشه"

Don't take life too seriously, you'll be amazed by how many times you'll laugh at yourself.

The more you live, the more you see, the more you believe in inexplainable phenomena.

Life is full of ironies; taking them seriously will not get you anywhere.

Smile for me.

Sometimes when Life gets bleak, all you need is to change your perspective.

Stand somewhere else, look at the world from another view point, and realize that life is not a one way claustrophobic pathway with no exits and no way out.

It's much more.

Thank god for everything, there are always people way less off, and unfortunate.

No matter what you are going through, there is someone out there that went through it and survived; and you will too..

Life can be hard sometimes, but on most days it's not that bad..

To be able to see that panoramic view, you must scale up that mountain from a valley; and to be able to appreciate that high elevation, you must stand at the lowest point and see it from a far.

Life is not what we are living right now, there is much more to come.

We are just tiny grains of sand in this world of endless possibilities.

Smile.

You have a whole world to discover and a life to live.

You may not do it now, but you eventually will get off this shaded path and walk into the sunlight.

Everyone looks better when basked in that golden glow.

Life is great, smile. :)

End of Siesta?

*Summer doesn't seem like summer when you have nothing to go back to; hello idle-ness? not really, I can't do idle if it killed me.

*"Khaleejesque" is going strong; utterly proud.

*Everyone you see is battling their own personal battle, so smile to strangers, it makes life easier.

*Stepping outside is like stepping into a sauna; I don't remember the last time I had to take off my sunnies because they fogged up. Westerners who claim they know "Global Warming" have definitely not visited this part of the world.

*Ramadan is at the corner, hello "istiqbals", that "stuffed" feeling post fi6oor, solemn and calm-ness in the fasting hours, and the whole Ramadan stampede of commercials that parade on TV and delusional sitcoms.

*They say, "When at first you don't succeed, dust yourself off and try again"; I say, I've been completely been submerged in dust, should i just drop and roll?

*Do you believe that dreams can be connective? as in you can meet up with someone in dreams-ville, and you'd be sharing the same dream?

*"الحمد الله على كل حال"

*Schools , in my opinion, are more important than higher education; they form the grass roots of your education. University merely builds on that.

*I think the Hannah Montana movie is cute, she's going places, or did she reach already?

*I'm hoping I'll be able to keep up blogging; I've missed this little space of mine.
