Will you be there?

Watched the MJ Memorial along with the zillion or so masses that tuned into that brilliant celebration of Michael Jackson's life, and a lasting farewell.

Who could have ever asked for a better remembrance?

I was never a die hard MJ fan, I was too young when his one-hit wonders were produced, when everyone wanted to be Jacko; when everyone who was anyone knew how to dance to "Thriller."

I remember his songs in my childhood, but nothing vivid.

I remember dancing to his "I'm bad" song in one of those make-shift make your own music video studios that were littered in almost every arcade back then; I was 4-ish 5-ish, jumping around looking cute in my light blue cut-offs with pigtails in my hair with no idea whether it was "bad" or "mad" and just having a blast with my siblings..

I remember singing "Heal the World" in Choir in elementary.

I remember playing that MJ Sega Video Game, in which we always used to make MJ dance- when he danced all the bad guys would go into a trance and dance with him, and then would be magically wiped out with one throw of his fedora.

That's all really.

But I can't deny the fact that his songs seem to be ever so familiar, I'm sure they always were playing in the background for miraculously I seem to know a couple of stanzas in each one..

One things for sure, he was a living legend, and will forever be remembered for what he did- the good, the bad, and the spectacular (**moon walk, and jetting/flying with a jet-pack in one of his concerts, saw that recently on TV, wow!)

I leave you with a song that really touched a couple of heart strings in his Memorial Concert.

"Will you be there?" sung by the ever so amazing Jennifer Hudson.

"In Our Darkest Hour
In My Deepest Despair
Will You Still Care?
Will You Be There?
In My Trials
And My Tribulations
Through Our Doubts
And Frustrations
In My Violence
In My Turbulence
Through My Fear
And My Confessions
In My Anguish And My Pain
Through My Joy And My Sorrow
In The Promise Of Another Tomorrow
I"ll Never Let You Part
For You are Always In My Heart"

By far one of the most sincere songs I've heard in a while. I love every word.

Hoping you'll always have someone there,

xx

for me the saddest part was when Germaine (MJ's bro) sang MJ's fave song "Smile" ...

& when Paris broke down to tears in the end .. poor Child...
